Our Justification and Righteousness, Part 1

There is an assault on the gospel today. We have people saying that we are all going to Heaven or that our works get us to heaven. They, in effect, demand that God take them to heaven on their terms. But God gives us, in one short verse, the entire gospel. There are several key Christian doctrines found in this on verse, justification by faith, imputed righteousness,
God’s sovereignty and God’s justice.

2 Corinthians 5:21

1.) God is Holy

2.) God is Sovereign

3.) We are Sinners

4.) God’s Holiness Demands Judgment of Sinners

Psalm 7:11, Psalm 5:5-6, Hebrews 10:28-31, Jeremiah 11:11, Romans 2:5-8, 1 Peter 3:12

Food for Thought: All we can demand of God is punishment for our sins, but God has provided another answer.
